Important note: IELTS authority কোনো fixed “upcoming cue card list” officially publish করে না. তাই online- পাওয়া latest cue cards-কে prediction হিসেবে না দেখে smart practice topic হিসেবে use করা উচিত

Quick Answer: Latest IELTS Cue Cards কীভাবে prepare করবেন?

Latest IELTS Cue Cards prepare করার best way হলো topic মুখস্থ করা না; বরং flexible answer framework practice করা. Because exam- exact same card নাও আসতে পারে, কিন্তু theme similar হতে পারে—person, place, event, object, experience, technology, education, decision, advice, achievement, বা memory.

For example, আপনি যদি “Describe a person who inspired you” prepare করেন, একই preparation দিয়ে আপনি answer করতে পারবেন:

  • Describe a teacher you admire

  • Describe a family member who helped you

  • Describe a successful person you know

  • Describe someone who gave you good advice

That means one strong story can cover multiple cue cards. আর যদি আপনি cue card speaking নিয়ে confused হন, তাহলে IELTS with Sabbir Sarkar – EnglishA2Z course আপনাকে guided Speaking practice, IELTS strategy, and exam-focused preparation-এর মাধ্যমে clear direction দিতে পারে

Use this simple 5-step Speaking Part 2 framework:

1. Direct Opening

প্রথমে topic directly introduce করুন.

Example:
“I would like to talk about a teacher who had a significant influence on my academic life.”

2. Background

Person/place/event সম্পর্কে short background দিন.

Example:
“He was my English teacher during college, and I still remember his teaching style clearly.”

3. Main Story

Cue card-এর bullet points naturally cover করুন.

Example:
“He helped me understand that English is not just a subject, but a practical communication skill.”

4. Feeling or Impact

Sample Cue Card 1: Describe a Useful App or Website

Cue Card:
Describe a useful app or website you often use.
You should say:

  • what it is

  • how often you use it

  • what you use it for

  • and explain why it is useful

Band 7+ Style Sample Answer:

I would like to talk about a website that I use quite often for learning English. It is an educational website where I can find lessons, practice materials, and useful guidance for IELTS preparation.

I usually use it several times a week, especially when I need to understand a specific topic or revise something quickly. For example, if I am confused about IELTS Writing Task 2 structure or Speaking Part 2 answers, I look for organised explanations and sample responses.

What makes this website useful is that it saves a lot of time. Instead of searching randomly across different platforms, I can follow a more structured learning path. It also helps me stay motivated because the lessons are practical and easy to understand.

In my opinion, a good educational website is not just a source of information; it acts almost like a learning companion. It gives students direction, especially when they are preparing alone. That is why I find this type of website extremely helpful for IELTS preparation.

Useful phrases from this answer:

  • quite often

  • structured learning path

  • saves a lot of time

  • learning companion

  • preparing alone

  • practical and easy to understand

Sample Cue Card 2: Describe a Person Who Inspired You

Cue Card:
Describe a person who inspired you.
You should say:

  • who this person is

  • how you know this person

  • what this person has done

  • and explain why this person inspired you

Band 7+ Style Sample Answer:

I would like to describe a teacher who inspired me a lot during my student life. He was my English teacher, and I first met him when I was struggling with speaking confidently in English.

What made him different was his practical teaching style. Instead of forcing students to memorise rules, he encouraged us to use English in real-life situations. He often said that language is not something we should only study for exams; it is something we should use to express our thoughts clearly.

He inspired me because he changed my attitude towards English. Before attending his classes, I used to feel nervous whenever I had to speak. But gradually, I realised that making mistakes is part of learning. His guidance helped me become more confident, not only in English but also in communication in general.

I think the most inspiring people are not always famous. Sometimes, they are ordinary teachers who quietly change the way we see ourselves. That is why I still remember him with great respect.

Useful phrases from this answer:

  • practical teaching style

  • real-life situations

  • express our thoughts clearly

  • changed my attitude

  • making mistakes is part of learning

  • remember him with great respect

Sample Cue Card 3: Describe a Time You Learned Something New

Cue Card:
Describe a time when you learned something new.
You should say:

  • what you learned

  • when you learned it

  • how you learned it

  • and explain how it helped you

Band 7+ Style Sample Answer:

I would like to talk about the time when I learned how to manage my study routine more effectively. It happened when I was preparing for an important exam and realised that studying for long hours without a plan was not giving me good results.

At first, I used to study randomly. Some days I focused only on reading, while other days I spent too much time watching tutorial videos. Later, I learned how to divide my study time into smaller focused sessions. I started setting daily goals, keeping a mistake notebook, and reviewing my progress at the end of each week.

This new habit helped me a lot because it made my preparation more organised. I stopped feeling overwhelmed and became more confident about my progress. More importantly, I learned that consistency is more powerful than last-minute pressure.

This experience was valuable because it taught me a lesson that applies not only to exams but also to life. If we manage our time properly, even difficult goals become more achievable.

Useful phrases from this answer:

  • manage my study routine

  • studying randomly

  • focused sessions

  • mistake notebook

  • became more organised

  • consistency is more powerful than last-minute pressure

The Smart Way to Prepare Cue Cards

Most students prepare cue cards in the wrong way. তারা ৫০৬০টা answer মুখস্থ করে, তারপর exam hall- গিয়ে nervous হয়ে যায়। IELTS Speaking memorisation test না; it is a communication test.

Instead, prepare by themes.

Theme 1: Person

একটা strong story prepare করুন about teacher/friend/family member. Same story modify করে multiple cue cards answer করা যায়.

Theme 2: Place

একটা place prepare করুন—library, university, park, city, café, classroom. Then adapt it based on question.

Theme 3: Experience

একটা story prepare করুন about learning something, helping someone, receiving good news, or solving a problem.

Theme 4: Object or Technology

একটা app, website, phone, book, gift, or tool prepare করুন.

Theme 5: Achievement

একটা achievement বা challenge prepare করুন that shows effort, learning, and result.

এই method follow করলে আপনি answer memorise করবেন না; আপনি idea bank তৈরি করবেন. আর যদি আপনার idea generation slow হয়, grammar weak হয়, বা speaking confidence কম থাকে, তাহলে foundation strengthen করার জন্য Basic to IELTS 100-Day Challenge – EnglishA2Z helpful হতে পারে

1-Minute Note-Taking Strategy

Cue card হাতে পাওয়ার পর মিনিট খুব important. এই মিনিটে full sentence লিখতে যাবেন না. শুধু keywords লিখুন.

Example topic: Describe a person who inspired you.

Write notes like this:

  • English teacher

  • college

  • practical style

  • no memorisation

  • confidence

  • real-life English

  • changed mindset

এই keywords দেখেই আপনি মিনিট naturalভাবে কথা বলতে পারবেন

A simple note-taking formula হতে পারে:

Who/What + When/Where + Main Story + Feeling + Result

এই formula follow করলে আপনি cue card-এর bullet points cover করতে পারবেন, আবার answer mechanical- লাগবে না

Speaking Part 2 Vocabulary That Sounds Natural

Band 7+ Speaking-এর জন্য কিছু useful phrases:

  • I would like to talk about…

  • The person/place/event that comes to mind is…

  • What makes it memorable is that…

  • I still remember it clearly because…

  • It had a significant impact on me.

  • At first, I was not very confident, but gradually…

  • Looking back, I think it was a valuable experience.

  • It helped me become more confident and organised.

  • This experience taught me an important lesson.

এই phrasesগুলো useful, but don’t use them mechanically. Natural flow সবচেয়ে important.

Common Mistakes in IELTS Cue Card Answers

IELTS Speaking Part 2- students সাধারণত এই ভুলগুলো করে:

  1. Full answer memorise করা

  2. ৩০৪০ seconds- answer শেষ করে ফেলা

  3. Bullet point mechanically read করা

  4. Same vocabulary repeat করা

  5. Story না বানিয়ে শুধু information list করা

  6. Pronunciation নিয়ে এত চিন্তা করা যে fluency নষ্ট হয়ে যায়

  7. Personal example না দেওয়া

  8. মিনিট preparation time properly use না করা

  9. Long pause দেওয়া

  10. Examiner-এর সামনে over-formal হয়ে যাওয়া

Remember, examiner expects natural communication, not a perfect speech. তাই আপনার goal হওয়া উচিত clear, extended, and natural answer দেওয়া
